A Royal Wedding Celebration at Mansions on Fifth
Shortly after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement, I was at a party when the topic of the royal wedding came up. I was thrilled to discover Victoria of Burgh Brides was as big of an anglophile as I am, and after a bit of fangirling (er, I mean discussion) we decided to host our very own Royal Wedding Watch Party!
Despite the early start time (6:30am!!!), we were sold out over month before the wedding. The morning of, 65 anglophiles arrived in their finest attire. Victoria was even styled by Bridal Beginning!
Mansions on Fifth provided the perfect setting for our celebration. The venue's opulent decor and old-world architecture added just the right touch of elegance to the event. A gold framed mirror provided by Vintage Alley Rentals with a message handwritten by the amazing Judith Browne welcomed guests as the arrived. Tiered displays of scones and other pastries were set at each table and every place setting had its own teacup and saucer and a goodie bag filled with swag from La Pomponnee Beauty Artisans, Jeremy Ganss Productions, Glow Blotique, Vintage Alley Rentals, Priory Fine Pastries, Burgh Brides and Jessica Garda Events.
In the lobby, guests could take photos at a selfie station decorated by Vintage Alley Rentals. with antique furniture and regal touches. Lux Photobooth created custom props for the station and included crowns, flags, faces of royal family members, and (my favorite) a "I'm here for the lemon & elderflower cupcakes" sign!
But the biggest hit was by far the Make-Your-Own-Flower-Hat station by greenSinner. There, guests could create a custom fascinator with fresh flowers and veiling supplied by Clarissa Boutique. The creativity of some of the ladies astounded me!
My favorite moment by far was when Meghan emerged from her car and began her walk to the church. The entire place fell silent and for the next hour, the entire place watch the wedding with shared excitement and joy. After Meghan and Harry were pronounced husband and wife, we toasted the newlyweds and enjoyed the most delicious lemon & elderflower cupcakes by Priory Fine Pastries. (For those of you not in the know, that was the flavor of the newlyweds' wedding cake.)
The rest of the morning was spent watching the carriage procession, making fascinators, taking selfies, and testing our knowledge of Royal Wedding Traditions and Harry and Meghan with a few trivia games. Winners took home prizes like a free blowout from Glow Blotique, a beauty pack from Ciel Cosmetics, and commemorative Royal Wedding mugs.
I absolutely loved planning this Royal Wedding Watch Party at Mansions on Fifth with Burgh Brides! Thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special thanks to the amazing vendors who made it all possible! Now enjoy the rest of these amazing pictures by Low-Key Love!
